Praying Petals

by Tracy Duffy

Fallen white and peach rose petals scattered on green grass, creating a serene, natural pattern. Dappled sunlight adds a peaceful mood.

How many Rose petals have fallen for you

Did you seek its source of thorn and jilt

How many of your Daisies dropped from the dew

Can you prop them back up and carry the scent

While plucking the petals ‘love me, love me not’

Have Lilac and Lily nectar quenched your melody

As Sunflower seeds breeze across the field

Sharing a garden prepared as you are

Seeking perfume to portray your being

Which petal, which petal can slow the bleeding
