Sonnet - Lethargic Seasonal Transitions

by Olivia Mahabir

The sounds of laughter withers,

Tis’ mind boiled and fried -

the heart that searches and slithers,

To begin again - under this new guide,

of brains unfretted - full of wonder,

melodies bleach the earth like lotuses.

To walk on and look at the view - this sonder,

under this sunshine, leaves full of notices.

Oh, this rain goes and follows -

To bend and mold, for the moon will come,

never to break, may fall never in sorrows,

To paint another morning with bay rum -

So, this goes with tastes unchanging -

So, we go with hearts believing -
