What does it mean to ask for help?

What if I am afraid?

Silence is so loud,

I can barely hear my own thoughts-

as they race through my head.

Please, someone, come and save me;

or must I fail again?

What does it mean to ask for help?

To quiet the noise is a constant battle-

Silence is like a tornado

Must I calm the storm on my own?

I know I should ask for help-

but the darkness inside

covers my soul.

I will take a breath again and again

release the storm

into the unknown.

Maybe, then help will come

and I won’t be on my own.
