Kill Me Now

by Kellee Kranendonk

Image is of a broken doll lying in the dirt.

Sticks and stones don’t hurt my bones

But words and actions shred my heart

Stab a blade and pierce my skin

Carve initials in my flesh

Pins and needles, whatever’s sharp

Make my blood run free

That piercing pain is easier

Than mending broken hearts and souls
